Changed the bearings in both front and back wheels,

In the process i managed to overtighten front axle pinch bolt and broke off the part of the fork .. can this fork be saved?  welded ? drilled? tapped ?

Today I replaced the gear oil, and did an oil change.    It wasn't too bad.

Has anyone done a thread on how to do the antifreeze?

everytime I see the word Downtown I can't help but have the chorus run through my head...

(Edit - WOW, I assumed she was a 1 hit wonder with Downtown, I had no idea of her 80 year career, global fame and that she's still going strong today at age 89!!)

(and there was a great Seinfeld episode based around this song)

Installed my new OEM windshield that I ordered online from Leesons, boy what a difference it makes.
The original one was getting some very small micro-like size cracks and getting really flaky with a yellowish tint to it.

And TODAY I installed a new rear tire~ a Pirelli Diablo Rosso which I decided to buy after much reading on here and boy, what a sharp contrast it makes in difference when compared to the new windshield- the windshield makes the DT look great on the outside for all to see, but this new rear tire which is covered up by all the plastics and the body of the machine makes a huge and very noticeable upgrade in the handling of The Orange Crush!
After only a few miles my cornering is light years ahead of where it was with that old Metzler Feel Good.
Longevity test of the new Pirelli= currently in progress.

The Pirelli Diablo is one of the best tyres for the Downtown. It can last 20,000km mix of urban and highway, but results will vary.

Some places such as dealers and mechanics need to do a special order, otherwise I'm not sure.

Put my new front tire on, new front wheel axle with shiny new fork squeeze bolt and went for a scoot. I`m surprised at how much more effort it takes to lean the scoot in turns now. It must be the grip of the new tire plus the shape, since the old one was more rounded on the sides.
A few more miles of riding and I`ll be accustomed to all this extra grip, hell I might just start dragging a knee now  8)

Replaced the battery again, also disconnected the light for the tub.    It got left on (seat not adjusted so well) and drained the battery.    Battery was only 6 months old, but probably not a good brand (AC-Delco)

My DT is going bye bye soon, I found me a very nice 2013 Honda Silverwing!
