Hello Seanny!  I plan to increase rectifier heat sink surface to decrease temperature, because this week my area reached 35Celsius ,during that I let you know how to remove, hopefully next week.
  you gave me an idea ????   I will try to put the old regulator back to back for extra cooling as the regulator on the downtown 300 gets very hot the second regulator will double the heat sink,.  thank you for the idea ,.

My regulator always gets hot, but it is not an issue except maybe the lack of airflow. The restrictive fairings don't help, but you may be able to cut out some plastics to help improve it.

rain yesterday and today, got off my azz.  installed a old regulator over the good one , double the heat sink,.  now for the test to see how it works,  looking at the fuel filter not looking clean, so I installed a new one ., it is a 2011 getting on in age,  looking at the gas line and it is time for new gas line,  getting soft,.  our regular gas is turning the rubber to mush,.naturly after I put it together, I found some new gas line in my garage,.

the gas line I found was to small 1/4 "  needed 5/16  new hose $ 17.00    25 inches ,  installed !!!  test ride it still misses , so it must be a vacuim leak,. or jets need cleaning,  in the fuel injector,  I thought they worked or did not.,,  have to look up U tube .,

Kymco has a guide for cleaning fuel injectors, I've done it recently and it's not that difficult.

You don't need to use a switch or flasher relay to pulse the injector, you can simply touch the battery terminal at intervals.

Do you happen to know the internal and outer diameter of the stator? I am thinking of getting a generic one and wiring up one myself.

Pre-major ride inspection of CVT. Removed plastic cover (you do not have to remove anything else except unhook puke tube). Remove ALL bolts (8mm socket for both covers) from aluminum cover, pried forward end of cover until it "popped" loose, worked cover off with fingers being mindful of that bearing at the rear, teeter-tottering in what tiny clearance allowed. Inside remarkably clean for 9000+ miles. Measured belt: supposed to be 1003 mm x 24.5 mm x 28 deg. Used dial caliper on width and got .963", used #18 insulated wire strapped/strung around outside of belt to get 39.49". Could not measure 28 degrees so did not worry about it.

New                                                     now
1003 mm = 39.488"                         39.49" (essentially the same - measuring tool fudge factor!)
24.5 mm = .9645"                            .963"

So, I think the belt has minimal wear for 9000 + miles.
One must be vewy, vewy careful of the really delicate intake filter at the forward end of the aluminum cover. That foam filter material is easily torn. I put the tiniest dab of bearing grease spread over the end of the clutch shaft that fits in the outer bearing (snap ring retained in aluminum cover) and a tinier dab of anti-seize on the two dowel pins. Reinstalled cover, drained puke tube, installed plastic cover.     

Will do this again around 18 to 20000 miles.

Why not change belt at scooter maker's recommended time?  With OEM belt.  I do and hate walking.  On 11th maxi scooter rubber band drive and over 400,000 miles with them=one broken belt, lucky with Helix with which belt could be changed by only removing cover and squeezing rear clutch apart, and I always carry spare belt as regardless of make of bike, chances are in US, dealers will not have new belt in stock

My first DT300i had 17500 miles when the belt failed because of overheating cause by mice storing about 5 pounds of bird seed in the plastic cover to the CVT. It woulda lasted longer 'cept for that. I doubt Kymco's interval. What is it 10000 miles? That's nuts, in my opinion. That's as bad as rear tires only lasting 4000 miles!

My previous belt lasted 28,000 km. It still had life left but I didn't want to take any more risks. The recommended interval is 20,000km I believe.

I thought I would revive this topic. Its not THAT far gone, and contains a lot of good info through the years that I think we can still add to....

So this morning, I changed the coolant in my 2013 DT.  I have no idea what was in there or if it was original. I suspect is was. So, I (for the first time)  removed the Givi windshield and the little coolant door.   In other forum threads, I have seen people complain about this.  But it was SO SIMPLE compared to removing plastic panels on other bikes.  This completes my get-ready-for-spring  stuff:  Changed battery , added a power line to the front glove box, put on new rear tire,  and changed coolant. I changed the battery because someone in another thread noticed that... in my description... my battery was failing.  It hadn't failed yet but was , indeed, on the verge.  So I changed it pronto. As for the coolant change, I went with Honda blue.  I combed through a pile of forum posts but nothing definitive ever comes of that. Honda blue seems like a good bet.  Pics:

And here is the line I put in with the fuse under the battery cable door.  The cable does not work, BTW, and you can see a pull wire hooked up to the left side latch.  The rung on the right side is removed from the seat so that only the left side works.

Rear tire change to Michelin PurePower SC I give it a chance, because a new City Grip 2 and AngelScooter from Pirelli also on the door, which is also recommended!

And rear break disk and pads also under limit, rear brake switch also dead last year  :'( that means I used the rear brake most  ;)
