Jimbo, I so wish I could figure out how to post pictures on this forum but pipster pretty well nailed it with his pics. His 1" ball base with the "U" bolts works well on handle bars or any shank of size on the mirrors. Ram makes a ball base with a flat tang featuring a hole that will fit 8 and 10 mm bolts which will fit the mirrors on the People or the Downtown. My GPS uses a Ram holder for the e-Trex 20 but the connection between the holder and the bike is a hunk of wood that mounts to that valley at the center of the handlebars. Ram don't make one of those!

That universal holder pipster has is the best since most "devices" these days are roughly rectangular and we seem to change them like socks. The only thing I don't get is why use a phone since they are so hard to see in daylight. I get all the other neat features and wanting them handy.

Karl, thanks for the technical description. I can post pictures, but you are much better at explaining how they work.

Thanks Karl and Rich.  Rich where did you get your mount in the picture?  Could you post a picture of your mount on your downtown?

My favorite place, Amazon!!!! [IMG]http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160617/17245c012146ce56a19cb1f410fc926b.jpg[/

That's how I mounted it for now, the nice thing about this set up is, you can adjust it. You can have it close or a little farther away. Whatever is more comfortable for you

Rich,
So is the ball joint just clamped on the mirror or did the mirror come off and go back into the adaptor? I am looking at the break reservoir adaptor myself.

The u bolt ball mount goes right around the mirror, no need to take the mirror off. I'm sure that you could use the brake resovoir ball mount, I was afraid of not getting the right length screws. I figured the u bolt was the easier way to go.

Got the "dummy turn signal lights" rewired.

Was trying to get the mirror turn signal LEDs to be a combination of DRL/TS, but ran into a snag as per http://www.kymcoforum.com/index.php?topic=23012.0

Need to get her out to get serviced...

Were the dummy lights just connecting up the cut wires or did you have to do more?

47,027 miles ( 75,682 _ Km.  on my 2011 down town ,  checked belt this morning, all is clean and belt size is 23.7 mm.   wide,  cant find worn out size in manual,  I will change this belt at 48,000 miles,.  Mitsuboshi says the new belt is   25.2 mm.  /2004 mm.   with 30 % angle, but all the belts I have bought are under 24,9 mm. wide,.  and the length is between 2004 mm to 2010 mm. ,

What eats up the belt?

1) high mileage
2) long high speed rides
3) age
4) stop go traffic

I think it is # 2 high speed and long trip,. and a possible screw up in the belt from new,. I have one belt with a lot of miles on it and still looks like new just worn a little with a few cracks when you bend the belt to inspect it,. that is the first belt it was 1010 MM. in length, worn to 23 MM wide

changed the variator, with sliders installed, for the J Costa.
I've only done a couple of miles or so but the difference is very!!
acceleration is far smoother and quicker, I haven't had her up to max yet but I have good feelings about this!!
no biggie, but the revs are a bit higher at take off but slightly less at 60mph, so, in theory should balance itself out!
I finish work at 5am tomorrow morning so I'm off to the motorway to have a play!!
i'll update tomorrow.
cheers,
Don.

I ordered the wide GIVI screen for my bike today!  Can hardly wait, I was being blown around all over the place.  I am 100 pounds and felt like I may leave the bike behind at times LOL.  Hazard lights come in real handy :D  I have only had my bike for about one month now and do love it minus the wind on me all the time. By the time I got to my little destination I was exhausted. :P

Hundred pounds!!?? I think I understand your problem with the wind! Great picture by the way. Where do you keep the ladder to get on that machine? Har, har! You GO, Nireen! Glad you joined this nut-farm and I'll bet you fit that bike better'n the rest of us! Did you by chance try different settings for the rear shocks? They usually are set to the 3 and there are 5 positions. Try 2 or one and see if there is a change for the better. With you being a hundred pounds you could load a couple of anvils in that top box and still have the shocks set to one!
