$6.659 most I've ever paid for a gallon of gas
« on: May 12, 2026, 09:50:26 PM »

Topped up at BP in Yellow Springs this morning.

I'm never going to complain about the price to fill up this Liberty150i - it sips fuel.
But did note this figure on the pump!
A highwater mark for me - and it probably will go higher.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Prices seem to have stabilised a bit here in the UK Stig, but then I have been out in the Yorkshire Boonies for a coupla weeks!

fwiw, I'm paying $17/gal for my chainsaw fuel   $85/5gal VP 50:1 premix (I've seen some places advertise $150/5gal)

not really gasoline though, primarily naphtha (94 octane rating) and proprietary 2 stroke oil

if I were using my saw regularly, I'd use pump gas, VP guarantees the fuel fresh in a container 5 years unopened, 2 years after opening. I used to throw away bad fuel quite often before I made the switch

wow, when you put it that way...I'm also paying about $26 USD / gallon for my 2 stroke premix. But my 2 stroke machines always start right up and give me no carb trouble. Plus I maybe go through a gallon each year.

not sure which brand of premix you're getting, most of those "gallon sized" containers are no longer 128 fluid ounces, they are only 110

my local Kymco dealer, is also a VP dealer, I think their regular price on 5 gal of 50:1 is $100, I get a 15% discount, hence $85

Randy, I buy the Tru Fuel red quart cans in the 50:1 mix. I think they're around $6.50 each..maybe a bit higher.  I also have a 'gallon' of the 4 stroke Tru Fuel that is 96 (?) ounces. I think I bought that to run through my generator when I exercise it occasionally and for the first fill of my 2 stage snowblower.

I've seen that brand at Lowes &Tractor Supply, cheaper than the Husqvarna brand
a gallon is 128 fluid ounces, I bet that "gallon" can you have is 110 oz

only 2 stroke I have are 4  Husqvarna chainsaws, the 395xp is a gas pig when I'm milling with it, a whole tank of gas + refill before I finish a slab cut

I also have a Ryobi ER160 2 stroke rotary hammer, but it's 25:1
