Welcome to Euro 4.
The U.S. doesn't drive the market in any way, shape or form.
Europe and Asia, where people buy & use bikes do.
They also drive the lighter car market for the same reason. They buy more of 'em.
Really going a bit slower, using a bit less gas, & having cleaner emissions isn't a horrible thing, & it does unite the technology of cars & bikes more so upgrades on the former also benefit the later going forward in that regard.
As the generations of bikes move on I'm sure the power will return. Either way not really much can be done for it. Not buying bikes won't help, since they'll be even less choice.
I do note that the GT300I is still available in Europe last I checked, & didn't lose much oomph with it's Euro 4 changes. Kinda sad it's not here, but that's our fault as much as anything.
If I hadn't stood pat on my B650 & HD200 that would have been one of a couple at the top of my list...Just couldn't quite pull the trigger ...maybe with an external gas filler..I really do hate the ones under the seat.
Euro 5 is due on 2020, so stock up in 2019.
Cheers
