Agility 50 / Re: 2010 Agility 50cc after 5 years and 50.000+ km's
« on: March 01, 2016, 10:34:51 PM »
Hei guys, sorry for late reply.
My trick in owning agility for so long is that I also own BMW F650 GS.
Agility is only for shopping and around the city  :)

Agility 50 / 2010 Agility 50cc after 5 years and 50.000+ km's
« on: October 06, 2015, 05:42:44 PM »
Hei guys.
It's been a while since I was on a forum so I want to share experience I had with my AG 50 after 54.000 kilometers.
Since I bought it new, had no serious problems so far except regular maintenance and it still goes very well.
Had also some crashes, broken right rear footpeg, windshield and top case bracket.
Scooter is standard with oem head, piston, carb, etc.
Went through 6 drive belts, bando in original size proved to be the best in everyday use so far.
6 or 7 sets of rollers + one new drive variator set(front one), rear driven pulleys are still original but needs new bearings and grease seal or complete new set.
6 new sparkplugs, ngk iridiums works best for me.
new rear tyre, front one still original and good!!!
Replaced piston rings and head gasket.Burning a bit of oil but it's going good.
Regular oil changes at 2.000 km's, Motul scooter expert 10w 40
Regular transmission oil changes, motul scooter gear 90
Replaced front headlight bulb couple of times and some dashboard bulbs also.
New speedo cable.
Front brake pads replaced 2 times, rear one's original.
After 5 years, battery is still original one and serves well but scooter is in frequent everyday year-round use.

I'm very happy with scooter and people often ask me how is it possible that 50cc scooter covers that mileage.
I just do regular maintenance and it keeps going.

- front wheel out of alignment
- worn wheel bearings
- worn or loose steering bearings

just my first thoughts

Agility 50 / Re: Throttle stuck when weather is freezing
« on: January 23, 2014, 06:59:58 PM »
As you described, I think the problem is in the throttle cable.
Other cause could be cable connection to carburetor.
Third cause could be throttle handle on steering bar, but you said handle could move freely while throttle is wide open.

First, remove upper handlebar cover, four screws and one on the front.
When you remove it, remove two screws at the back of the right handle holder(black piece where is starter and light switch and it holds right rear view mirror).
It will come in two pieces and you can remove throttle handle. Disconnect cable and you'll see small rubber dust protection.
Try to put some oil in the cable. It should be lubricated every now and then.
Then, put some grease on the right of the handlebar where handle sits.

Put it back together. It's not so hard to do this  :)

Agility 50 / Re: Windshields... Who has one and what have you found.
« on: November 11, 2013, 05:52:06 PM »
as I'm looking to windshield installation, the most important thing for me is comfortable ride and weather protection.
I have italian kappa screen 440A 66x64 cm.
It's protecting my hands and directing airflow over my helmet. a few cm higher screen would be better as I'm 184cm high.
haven't noticed any improvements in mph/mpg but made my everyday riding much more comfortable.
at constant rain at 40mph ride during 20minutes almost all my body was dry. I'm also using leg cover.
But, driving behing anything bigger than renault kangoo, preugeot partner.... is making turbulence.
driving behind lorries and bigger trailer trucks is a nightmare  :(
also, as I have open face helmet, it is protecting me against bugs, debree and rocks  :D

if you have 12'' agility 50, than cut through cdi box. you'll find instructions on this forum or youtube,
if it's 16'' agility 50, than you should cut some wire. not sure which one but instructions could be found here as well.

good luck  :D

Agility 50 / Re: belt problems
« on: August 18, 2013, 04:03:30 AM »
reg, as I know, belt shouldn't touch kick start half moon, bendix or cvt cover.
maybe belt pieces was flapping inside making marks everywere before it snapped. happened to me twice
took me half an hour of cleaning the pieces and sticky black dust

my advice:

-buy quality belt
-clean and lubricate torque driver for smooth operation regulary
-clean inside of cvt cover and variator system. you don't have to be thorough. compressed air works for me just fine
-when installing belt and tightening front variator nut, rotate variator a couple of times after tightening. 4 or 5 times should be ok. it's making belt to sit propperly
-check belt condition at regular basis. when removed, twist the belt inside out. if you see deep cracks between belt teeths, it's a sign the belt is at the end of a life

I hope this will help  :D

Agility 50 / Re: Kymco agility city 50 my exhaust is smoking
« on: July 05, 2013, 10:11:31 PM »
yes, de-restricted agility 50 is reving at 9.000rpm max

don't know about city 50, but it should be the same?

how old is it and how many miles/kms you have on your scooter agilitycity50?

de-restriction on it should be:

1. smooth drive boss
2. bigger jet, I think it's 86
3. removal of small plastic part inside airbox
4. cdi wire cut

Maybe it's running too rich causing high oil level (unburned fuel is mixed with oil and creating high oil pressure and forced back into combustion chamber) making it smoking?

engine is gonna be in high revs, top speed will probably remain the same, belt wear will increase and mixture could be lean but uphill will be better.
higher revs require more fuel, so, smooth drive boss, 82 jet and then cdi cut. Just my advice  :)

Agility 50 / Re: 1500 torque spring length and problems!!
« on: May 17, 2013, 06:17:33 AM »
maybe the torque spring is for 50cc 2 stroke!?
though, it shouldn't be a problem to run this spring on ag50 as long as it fits on the plate and  assembly is put together as it should

remove spring and try if the torque driver is moving free and is not stuck.
if original spring worked before, there is no reason why it shouldn't work now.
also, clean it thoroughly, check seals and apply high tepmerature grease

« on: April 14, 2013, 09:30:49 PM »
It s not problem. I done some oil seals. problem are bearings. I got to buy bearing pullers to pull worn bearings out. thing is to heat case and to cool bearings in freezer and it slide in easily. seals are easy to remove and easy to install with socket, but need to put some grese on it to seal propperly

« on: April 10, 2013, 05:57:17 PM »
yes, you're right. I took rear wheel off to check pads but it look ok for 30.000km+
just sandpaper on pads and brake cleaner+sandpaper on drums and it's fine for another 30.000km
but I noticed final reduction oil on brakes. a little bit, so I see it's time for some new oil seals and one bearing inside final reduction...

yeah, thanx guys
that is also what I was thinking: downtown 300i or yamaha x max 250
those two beverly's are in so so condition. color and plastics are faded of italian sun and high mileage so it needs a lot investment for trip.
though prices are ok, 1.150 eur for 2004 200 and 1.900 eur for 2006 500, both negotiable

I would like to change make just to try something else, but I'll stay with kymco  ;D
downtown suits my needs just right, just I need some more power so I'll go on DT 300i and it's a trade in

I'll try to take and post some pics after I come back ;D
