Thank you Wayne and Stig for your responses.

I will start looking at the right side switches as you suggest.  Wayne, did you ever pinpoint the cause of your problem?  I know you said when stripping off the plastic pices the power came on and you were then going to look at the rear light wiring??
Thanks
Ed
Hit the link, I made a post the other day. Never pinpointed the exact problem but I'm close.

Thanks Charlie.

I haven't been a big fan of those res mounts. Do you put it over the original and then screw through them both or does it replace the original brake fluid cover? What was your experience with them? Recommend?

BTW, Are those heated grips in the pic? If so, you have a link to them and your review?

Does yours have a light control module?

Karl
Yes but I believe that only controls the headlight.

and I thought I was the only one who had "adventures" when working on my scoot. Nice to know the brake cylinders screw back in. Thanks for sharing.

Well, maybe, Wayne. You might have found a wire broken INSIDE the insulation. Also consider a terminal lug or other crimped-on terminal like inside one of the plug shells. I know you found something! Now ya gotta figure out what it is!

Karl
If it was a wire broken INSIDE the insulation wouldn't unplugging and replugging back in each of the connections while key was on give me the same response (no power)? That is what I did and it kept power the whole time.

I ask the ? cause I'm just trying to learn.

I replaced my rollers with Dr Pulley Sliders (13gram) and got very close to original performance only the RPM's lowered slightly. So you'll want to go lighter than 13 gram.

Super 8 150 / Confusing amperage on fuses
« on: August 01, 2016, 01:49:25 PM »
Have a 2013 Super8 150 and was replacing the tube fuses with inline waterproof blade fuses. There seems to be some confusion on the amperage of the fuses that are used. I’m getting 3 different ideas thrown at me and was wondering what your experience has been if you’ve changed these out and what issues you’ve had if any.

Owners Manual says:
7amp, 7amp, 10amp

Plastic covers over tube fuses labeled:
(white plastic), (white plastic), (yellow plastic)
7amp, 10amp, 15amp

Actual tube fuses in the scooter:
7amp, 7amp, 15amp

What I put in:
7.5amp, 7.5amp, 15amp

On my Xciting 500 the variator nut is quite large (not bragging  ;D ). I'm having trouble finding a socket that will fit it. What other tool would you reccomend?

Xciting 500 / Where to mount Accessories

A cup holder would be nice for long rides.
A place to put my GPS would be too.

I'm not a big fan of drilling into plastic fairings so I guess it is just the mirror stem. What have you done with mounting accessories? My problem seems to be that I'm 6 feet tall and that doesn't leave a lot of excess room between my legs and the handlebars. Not that big a deal for everyday riding but if I'm to mount any acc. then they need not take up any of that precious room I have there. What solutions have you come up with? Comments welcome and pictures appreciated.

Forbes,
I've been following this thread for some time and find it hard to come up with words that convey your strength of character and determination. It struck me that someone was able to give such an account of your last few weeks but I guess that typing on those keys is a sort of therapy. So glad you are on the mend and seem to be as positive as you can. I'm not sure I would have the wearwithall to withstand the test you have with such grace. So glad you are making steps everyday towards a little more normalcy. Take care.

Ed,
Sounds strangely familiar to what I've been dealing with.

Put a shirt on dude! You might get some of these Sissy Marys excited! As for me, I almost heaved up my Gorky's for crying out loud!!!! :-*
So that was you that left the comment on the YT page?

Yeah, I figured it out after I started making the video but I wasn't about to start over. Look at it this way, if you can make it through the video, taking apart your Xciting should be a cakewalk.  :o

Had it all apart again the other day. I was thinking about the fact that whenever I take it apart it all starts working again out of the blue. I decided to turn the key on and start taking the fairings off one by one and looking to see if it turns on (power). Well it did when I pulled out the wiring from the rear (brake, turn and license lights). Whoo Hoo I found it! It was late so I put it away for the evening and decided I would tackle it the next day after work. So I look over everything in that wiring harness. Examined each and everyone of the wires to check for cracks or exposed wiring that may cause the issue. I found nothing. All I do know is that at one point I tried tucking all those extraneous wires into a little hole where they come out of to try and clean things up. Even made a video on it.

So now I've retrofitting that back to the original and we'll see if that helps. The power definitely came back to me when I pulled on that set of wires. I know it wasn't hard enough to jar the wiring back into the mid section of the scoot. I thought for sure I'd find the culprit wire this time but alas, no luck.
