In order to get mine reset last time I actually had to take out the rubber seal (button) and look down through to the circuit board and press the button with a toothpick or something similar. I would not use a metal object as you are pushing it towards a circuit board and you don't want to connect two circuits by accident.

I wouldn't ride. If it is not hot, get your hands dirty and try and just drain a little to get it right. Then have fun cleaning up the mess. I know it sucks but I wouldn't ride it. Wouldn't even start it.

Super 8 150 / Re: 125/150 shared parts?
« on: August 18, 2016, 03:58:45 PM »
Here's a KYMCO Consumer parts site where you can lookup Super8 150 part numbers and compare to what you need.
http://kyps.kymco.com/kyglobal/F001D.do

There is 125cc listed but it is the US models. You may be able to go in and match your engine code though for specific engine parts. Ask about for a similar site in the UK for 125cc models. If the part numbers match then order away.

If the part numbers are common and the 3rd party part is listed as a fit for the specific part number then you should be good.

As far as the luggage options, I never added anything to my Super8 150 but Shad seems to have a mounting bracket that works with the Super8 150.

KYMCO OEM. I know they are expensive, I just bought one for backup purposes. Went on a day the dealer was giving 20% off parts orders.

Police officers are having a very difficult time. We are experiencing a total break down of society and the police have to deal with it.
IMHO, there is a big difference between peaceful protest, and murder, burning, and looting.
The former are expressing their opinions and frustrations trying to make a peaceful change, the latter are hard core criminals, and should be dealt with accordingly.

For what it's worth, mine squealed for a few days on take off when I changed the belt. Never happened again after that initial few days.

Xciting 500 / Summer Start Procedure
« on: August 04, 2016, 06:49:42 PM »
Since my starting problems I had this past winter, I decided that even in the summer I'd turn the key on and then wait to start until the engine light goes out (fuel pump stops pumping) and then hit the starter button. This works but once in a great while (only twice this summer) it doesn't want to start and then I try doing the winter thing where I let the fuel pump cycle a couple more times and then try and start. I play hell getting the thing started but then once I do it is gone again for quite some time. I'm wondering if I'm flooding the thing cycling the fuel pump and how I tell if I am. Should I just try and start without waiting on the fuel pump? Is it really making a difference or am I just imagining things?

Remove cvt cover and clutch bell....deglaze clutch pads with fine sandpaper.
See if this cures take-off shudders.

Exactly what I was thinking. Stig, you're clairvoyant.

Technical | How To / Re: Variator Nut
« on: August 04, 2016, 06:39:27 PM »
You absolutely can Wayne.  If you have a Harbor Freight nearby, take a look at their electric impact wrenches. They are not that expensive and man do they make removing the variator nuts easy. Just dont use them to put the nuts back on. Good luck man!
45 miles to the Harbor Freight but that sounds like a good ride to me.

I might have just waved and then gave them the wind-up middle finger. After adjusting my panty hose first.  :-*

I was just thinking about this the other day. Thanks for the tips guys. My hi-viz jacket is a little over 2yrs old and starting to show some dirt, especially around the collar area. How many days should I count for a drip dry?

If you are looking at putting on the OEM windshield then it shouldn't make a difference in top speed. They are so small, it's really just for aesthetics.

This cross bar has lots of room to mount stuff
https://taiwanbigscootershop.com/collections/xciting-parts/products/t-b-s-s-kymco-xciting-400-cnc-crossbar?variant=1020457949

I've bought from these guys and they are ok. Freight can be a issue.

AMAC
I like the idea of the cross bar but does it allow you to keep your original mirror mounts? I'd like a screw through option and will look for something like that but the link shows mirrors moved to the front windshield plastic.

Thanks for all the feedback on this. Looks like another purchase is coming soon. I know the ram mount stuff is good and I like the idea of mounting that to a crossbar as to not put any undue pressure on the brake res.
