Am I about to destroy my Like50?
« on: May 02, 2013, 12:05:12 AM »
Just found this forum and it looks really informative so hello!

I'm looking to upgrade my like50 2t. It maxs outat about 27mph and I need about 10 mph more to be safe on all the city roads.

After some research, I've decided I'm going to install the naraku sport variator, tecnigas next r exhaust and a 1500 rpm contra spring. So... My first question is, if I put all this on my stock scooter, will the remainder of the drivetrain be able to handle the upgrades?

Also is this the best way to go? I'd rather leave actual engine work till later because I have no place to open up/take apart the scooter and leave it as is if I run out of time.

Thanks!

Before you spend any money!
It's worth remembering that all twist and go scooters operate in the same general manner.
Remove the variator cover and look inside. Remove the nut holding the standard variator in place and lift away the outer variator. Is there a washer on the inside? How long is the boss? Have a look at my thread in the zx50 area 50-60 mph free upgrade. Most of it will apply to your bike too
