According to the owners manual for my new GTI300 the stock plug is a NGK CR7E. What is the correct # for a iridium plug for this motor?

+1 that's the correct plug.

I like the Denso Iridium plugs. Their cross reference at http://www.densoiridium.com/find_part.php
shows that you would need the IU22
