300cc big bore kit
« on: December 24, 2012, 08:37:17 AM »
Has anybody installed this on their 250? I just installed mine today along with the performance cam. The daylight and heat ran out before I got the rest of my B&W 250 put back together. I am curious what to expect. I also have a 32mm carb, LeoVince exhaust, K&N intake and a complete Polini CVT. This scooter better haul my fat azz around better.

Do you have a review on the 300cc kit and the cam? What about fuel mileage? I have 40.000 kms on mine (25,000 miles) and i was considering that if i do a rebuild which isn't yet necessary because it's running very strong

I highly recommend it. It gives better take off and smother top end. I weigh 350lbs and I have gone a GPS verified 92mph before I got a little scared going that fast on 12" wheels...lol. Since your engine has 25,000 miles on it I would replace the crank bearings and connecting rod bearings while you have the engine apart. The 300cc kit replaces everything else you need to have a rocking engine.

Did you use something to etch the metal prior to spraying? If not that paint is going to flake off rather fast. Im interested in doing the 292cc kit for my honda, which one did you use? And how does it sound now? Get some video going! My Reflex 250 runs great but you can tell around 80 its done power wise.

I roughed it up before painting and I use self-etching primer made for engine painting. I used the MRP big bore kit. It is the same as the Polini one and I installed the Naraku high lift cam shaft.

Where did you get your carb and cam from? since i believe the stock carb is too small for a big bore and cam, I have a hard time trying to get in touch with MRP, do you know any other vendor?

A video of your B&W would be nice

Carb is from here: http://www.scrappydogscooters.com/250cc_Performance.html

Cam I bought the same time as the kit from a MRP dealer.

Has anybody installed this on their 250? I just installed mine today along with the performance cam. ...

Maybe you could post a list of part #'s, brands, MPG, top spped, etc for the kit to make it easer to follow for other GV owners.  Thanks.
