Oil level check
« on: October 20, 2011, 03:19:52 AM »
I have a Pdf manual and on checking the oil level it says to put on level surface on it's stand and then further on it says to check when upright. Which is correct?

Both.
The "put it on it's stand" is so that the bike doesn't fall on your head when you're crouched over trying to see the window on the right side of the bike lol.
Put it on it's stand but keep the stand on some elevated surface (like a brick or something), so the bike is "upright".
Honestly I just have my girlfriend check while I hold the bike upright, and I check hers when she holds her bike upright.

Since I topped off the oil and checked for proper fan operation the red hot light has not come on. Weather is cooler though. I did pour some antifreeze in hose overflow, too lazy to take off covers and I think that helped a lot. Thanks for the oil check tip.
