Trouble starting from cold start
« on: August 27, 2011, 05:51:31 AM »
Every time I fire up the Yager in the morning and when I get back from the train station at the end of the day, the scooter's engine doesn't fire up easily. I press start and it starts up, but then sputters (sometimes it dies) and then finally kicks in at about 20 seconds or so. Normally to keep it from dying on me at first start-up, I give it a little throttle and it seems to be fine.

My question is...is this normal for this scooter? I've only had it about a month.

You may want to check the drain that exits down near the oil filter cap, engine left. I experienced hard starting, poor idle after start and drained out a whole bunch of oil and water emulsion. The original Yager start and instant idle returned. The book points out this drain and I guess I just plain forgot it. Hey, I'm old and forget stuff!

Great! Then let us all know what you find and how the scoot(s) respond.

I don't have a problem but haven't checked it lately.  I'll check it as soon as I get it out of the hurricane cocoon.
