Just purchased a new 2009 Kymco 125
« on: September 20, 2008, 09:47:53 PM »
Hi,

I just purchased a new Agility 125 over the phone and I pick it up tomorrow 21SEP08. I have never rode or even seen this scooter in person. My entire buying decision was based on the reviews online, styling and price. Here in California these are a hot item...I purchased mine for $2,350.00 out the door from Chaparral Motorsposts in San Bernardino. I live in San Diego and this was the best I could do.

I just wanted to drop in and share my purchase with fellow owners....even if I don't know you I will be asking questions.

Thanks
   JC

congrats!  have fun on it and check out the forums over at scootdawg.  While this forum is very knowledge and helpful, that forum is always active, fun, and knowledgeable as well!

Congrats and good luck.  A great little scoot that I know you will enjoy.  Don't get caught up in the "mods", ride it and enjoy it.  After this puppy breaks in (around 600 KM) it gets even more fun.  Change to oil ASAP to a non-syn high quality.  I don't like any fluids in a scoot coming out of China.  Then at 600-800 KM, change oil again.  Do not put a synth oil in before the first 1000 KM. Then change the gear-oil pretty soon as well.  I just do not have a warm fuzzy on the fluids they put in these "low-cost" scoots.  I changed the gear oil at about 200 KM with Mobil 1 Synth...but only because it was the gear box.  The motor needs a big more "wear" to properly break in.

Having said that, you will really love this.  For the money, this scoot will go up against the Buddy's and anything else out there in the 125cc-150cc range.  2 tear warranty and a big under seat storage...nice power...under $3k...you get the idea...

Good luck and be safe!

Thanks for the information.....I will change the oil soon...I asked the dealer if I should change the oil right away because it was from "China".....they said no because it was a Kymco. They said they use decent oil unlike the no name China made stuff. That said, I will change it after a hundred miles.

As for mods I won't get too caught up in it....but after break in a little extra probably would not hurt. I am happy with this machine....I need to get the service manual and start reading as I only have experience wrenching on my 2 storke jetski.

Yeah...it is a Kymco...you'll be fine with the oil...that's just my GY6 China fear coming out.  Good luck again and be safe.

I also just got my Agility 125. While searching the internet I was able to find a very detaild Service Manual (much better then what I got with my scoot) at aussie scooter forum.

Here is a link http://www.scootercommunity.com.au/files/folders/bug_kymco/default.aspx

This might be the same manual that is being sold on eeeBay for $10.
