Anybody have experience adjusting preload on the ak 550? I don't see anything anywhere speaking to A) if this possible at all and B) if so, how to do it.

Certainly if it is possible - and surely it is - it would have instructions in the owner's manual!?
There will be a ramp adjuster or threaded collar on the rear shocks - with a tool in the underseat tool kit?
If it uses a 'mono-shock' . the access will likely be underneath - possibly hidden behind a cover which you can open.
Best bet is the manual - or advice from another owner!
Good luck.

Have a look at this free download manual. Horizontal mono shock, you'll need a type C-spanner and a ramp to put your scoot up a bit.
Clean the thread properly before start wrenching, its alu and expensive.
