helped buddy install seat on Harley
« on: April 03, 2026, 01:40:40 PM »
I think I'd posted a few years back about a buddy of mine moving from his starter Rebel 300 up to a Harley Sporty. He's had the bike for 3 full riding seasons and loves it.

He asked me if I'd help install his new, leather, springer, solo seat with a flip out pillion seat. It was a beautiful piece of artwork, from Italy, and it came with no instructions! The only help we had was a 10 second video on their website showing the installed seat and flipping it up to attach the pillion.

Took a bit of fiddling around to determine which fasteners went where...but we got it installed. Nothing is fully tightened as he will go back and add thread locker to every bolt. (this Harley VIBRATES!)

Seat is really cool...acts as a solo seat but is hinged at the front to flip up and the pillion seat is under it. Pillion seat is hinged to flip back in place on top of rear fender (which is made of heavy metal). He wanted the ability to carry a (female) pillion if needed, but to maintain the solo seat look the rest of the time.

2 pics attached. first with solo seat, 2nd with pillion seat in place. (may need to expand pics to see)
