"filthy moon" and gusty winds~!
« on: April 01, 2026, 12:58:45 AM »
My old Sgt used to call these  murky, going in and out of the cloud moons - "filthy". So, we knew we'd have some light - but not much - best to keep in nearly physical contact with the man in front of you. Esp. if the moon ducks behind a cloud.
The winds were steady 18MPH w/gusts from the S. Had my attention.

Scout's a new coffee shop in Springfield.

Back side of the Mills Park hotel in Y.S.

Into Dino's at 6:45am for my coffee.

Over the w/e my daughter followed me into YS for breakfast at the UnderDog, and coffee from Dino's.

I generally see more Porsche's than Vespas in the village.

Trike and a Panamera 4.

rare POW flag - over the Yellow Spring's post office.

The Underdog looks like a nice place to hang out and relax. Breakfast in the morning and wine, craft beer and live music (on Friday nights) at night! My kind of place!

It gets pretty rowdy there on Friday evenings (the only evening hrs for the Dog. I'm not much of a drinker - so I'll just have coffee. - but they are open for coffee and many kinds of fresh pastry at 7AM) . Pretty much all of the shops in Y.S. close @6PM - except for a few restaurants and Dino's, and the theatre.

Before covid my daughter and I often had various breakfasts at the Dog, and around the corner at Wms. Cafe. (now closed)

Covid also killed the 3rd coffee shop in the village. The Spirited Goat Coffeehouse -  Haight/Ashbury style little artsy shop with a little stage, open-mic nights,  and handmade couches, etc. I loved the kids that worked in there. I warmed myself many a winters morning at their sidewalk table - Guatemalan coffee was their specialty.
I'd stop in, fill a cup and slide some $ on the counter - wave and step outside. Never had to stand in line....
