Hose Sizes?
« on: March 08, 2026, 02:20:42 PM »
I'm going to run new fuel and vacuum hoses but the manual doesn't provide info on them. Is this information correct?

The fuel hoses have two sizes: 3/16" and 1/4"
Vacuum hose is 1/8".

It seems strange that they are imperial.

Info is from Lab Coat Paul (who is awesome).

I just checked some leftover vacuum hose I have from when I replaced my S200s with red silicone (looked pretty good..?) 1/8" internal diameter is correct.

Can't recall exact fuel line ID. I know my scooter was a size smaller than my motorcycle. You can always pull your line off and measure or I bet someone comes along with the correct info.

Take the old hose to a large auto-parts store like O'Reilly's or Lordco.  They match it for you and sell you correct replacement (by the metre or yard). New cars don't used these small hose sizes, but they're still stocked. Buy several sizes and store them in the attic for when you need them.  Also buy the tiny hose clamps which are as scarce as hen's teeth.

eBay sells many sizes of clamps. (and hardware, quality Japanese bearings, ect that can be used on a scooter)

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

I picked up one of those spring clamp sets from Amazon with many different sizes. Thos clamps are much nicer and easier to use than the ones that came from the factory on our Kymcos.

Those are almost always too big for small machines. It's better to see them with your own eyes to be certain!  The most difficult to locate are the small hose clamps.
