My Honda scooter
« on: January 04, 2026, 11:22:28 PM »
I have mentioned my new replacement scooter being a Honda. there has been some interest so here goes:
last November I purchased a 2025 Honda ADV160 scooter. The machine has been great, a little faster than my Kymco Like200i and a smoother ride. That is to be expected given it was 2500.00 more than the Kymco. I was looking for something a little faster because of impatient drivers in upstate NY. It fits the bill well as it tops out at an honest 64 mph. I miss the step through design, and, if I had to do it again, I would've kept the like 200i also. the fuel mileage is great and always gets over 100 mpg. other than that, I'm pretty happy. so far, so good. hope this helps

Good to read about your experience on the ADV.  A nice looking machine!

Us scooter riders seem to be few and far between here in upstate NY. Whereabouts in upstate are you located? I'm in Syracuse and always looking for someone to ride with.,

I'd think any of the 300ish mini-maxi's would be a bit quicker.
Other than that there's not a lot around (new) that falls between those two choices in the U.S. at this time.

Another thought though, having test ridden the ADV 160 & kooking at the spec on those, noting it's similarity to my SYM I'm curious if you've tried dropping a gram on your rollers?
I did this with my SYM, & might have lost some hypothetical top end, but gained a better real world top end as well as better acceleration.
I tried both sliders and rollers to achieve this & found the DP sliders were a better fit for my application.  The rollers had the engine very revved at the top end where the sliders calmed that down somewhat.
Caveat Lector, & I suggest you check the Honda forums to see what others have done of course since YMMV & these are different bikes.

as far as changing weights, I'm pretty happy at the mid 60's for speed. the fuel mileage is great stock so I'm good. I live in Schenectady NY so if anyone's over this way, let me know. good riding in the mountains around here

I'm in Syracuse. I have a Kymco People S 150S that only does a GPS verified 60. I put lighter Dr. Pulley sliders in it, so it goes like Hell on the bottom but runs out of steam after 55. I subscribe to a publication called Scooter Zine. Several issues back it featured a article on a scooter club in the Albany area. I don't remember the name of the club but you should research it. Unfortunately scooter riders seem to be few and far between in my area.

Any chance we could get a couple of photos of your scooter?
Big fans of pictures of all rides here on the forum - especially those taken for the sunny side of the bike! :)
