Wife and I took a little get-away at a nice hotel with a pool and a fireplace last w/e.
The temps went straight into single digits - with a nice snow.
So it was nice hunkering down and watching it all out the 5th floor window, sitting by the gas fireplace. Toasty!
Our fav steakhouse, BlackRock Grill, (cook your own whatever on a hot black rock. "No thanks - I'll let the pro cook my nice steak!") was about 300 yrds down the street, breakfast included at the hotel - and mall across the street if we needed any Xmas shopping. Wife packed like we were going to Kenya. Clerk greeted us and asked what brought us to town. I almost got it out - before my wife punched me, and lied to the man

I tried begging off the pool - but wife is a Calif borne girl and swims like a fish. I swim like a rock.
It is single digits out the window - snow-covered cars - and I am warned not to do any
diving!
Private pool!

Before the snow started. Scion Hospital over there. ('where's the Xmas decorations?' Wife: "it's an Indian hospital." 'Yeah, but a few thousand of those employees are American!' ??)

I watched 3 snowplows work the lot most of the night.

I love this Xmas ornament -

...remembering the good times. Like when my daughter and I went to the big grocery store at 5AM, and lined up to get toilet paper. Two sheriff deputies and the store manager with a loudspeaker kept order. My daughter was waiting just outside the door for me to bring the car around, when an elderly lady came out and told her that she is in peril standing there by herself with toilet paper, "you should wait inside, young lady!"
