Kymco tool
« on: December 11, 2025, 08:46:41 PM »
Years ago I loaned out my Kymco code reader tool to Stig so he could beat up his dealer to actually honor the warranty on his Like 200i (and it worked!). He returned it, of course, after it helped solving his problem.

I told you that to tell/ask/beg this: I cannot find the tool now! I dimly recall sending it to someone...I think...please send it back if I loaned it to one of you guys..OR..tell me I GAVE it to you SO I WILL STOP LOOKING FOR IT !! Har, har!

Hey! I'm 85 and that's the age of 'hereafter' : walk into a room wondering 'what am I here after?!' and never ending hunting for stuff!

Here's Karl's Kymco diagnostic tool attached to my ailing LIKE200i.
Long story short - the scoot developed a massive miss if held at 25>30 MPH.
Bad batch of throttle position sensors installed @ 2012.
Karl's tool and help from "Rocky" (USA customer relations employee at that time) caused my dealer to replace the throttle body, under warranty.
This youtube video might have helped things along, as well.

Alright, dang it Karl!....remember - it is likely still in the Kymco box - maybe 7"or 8" square.
You did look under the seats of your scooters, top cases?
Man, we all feel for you - "been there, done that!"
My memory retention with a tool in hand is @4 seconds these days - "where the H did I put it down!?"
Makes any simple service job a real joy.

Looks like you might last have had it in hand, June, 2022.
But I see no conversation from you about loaning it out....unless it was done by PM?

Take your time - and start from one end of the house and work to the other.

Again Karl - we've all been there.
Good luck buddy!

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

I have the box, Tom, with layers of address labels, yours and mine! It has the adapter harness to connect with the side-by-sides system. I am betting I put it in a 'safe' place around here somewhere! It is REAL SAFE! Har, har!
