anyone else ever ride in one?

I used to thumb all over Paris as a teenager - and rode in several of these.
First impression - the body has the most amazing lean angle when cornering. You'd swear it's going to roll.
The French absolutely flail these things....full gas!, brake hard, corner like a blind man! The mechanical sounds are a wonder! "something is about to explode!" Somehow these cars amplify the noise from the running gear into the passenger compartment.! "engine howl being piped in under the dash?!"

No, actually, my first impression when entering the car was the seats. A couple of lawn-chair-like pipes with thin springs under your butt and covered with 3/8th inch of foam and fabric. Whatever - they are stupidly comfortable! The door, with folding glass - weighs about 3 pounds, so arm strength will be a major player in structural safety if you see a Citroen bearing down on you, amidships!
The experience assaults all of your senses. And when the dear man finally howls to a halt - you stagger out with a massive grin on your face, amazed, maybe go down to one knee (your hearing is gone for a few..)s - and feel like you really should have paid something - for he has just thoroughly entertained you in his wonderful little car!

No. Heck no! One would not like to get in a wreck in one of these little featherweight French-Cut Green-Bean cans.
So what!

I've seen two since leaving France in 1967. Brought in thru Canada I think.

Anyone else have an experience with one of these 2CV's?

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

been a while, early 80's I knew someone that had a few in his collection of cars, one was roadworthy, he also collected Land Rovers, strange fellow, lived off grid, kerosene powered refrigerator, gas lights, his car collections were parts vehicles,  never had the opportunity to ride in his 2CV, anytime I rode anywhere with him, it was in the Land Rover

Very popular here in the '70's, but never been in one despite a short-lived amour of mine owning one back in the day!
Regards & ride safe,
Neil
