Relax run on the island of CRES (Croatia)

As nearly as a tradition every year I did a four day scooter tour from northern Italy to Croatia (island of Cres).

Beautiful serene nature, friendly people and great food (though not for vegetarians).
This tour takes approximately four to five hours oneway for I had to use a ferry from Croatia mainland to reach the island.

Well mantained, motorcycle friendly, curvy roads with hundreds of bends just to enjoy the scooters touring abilities.
Out of mainseason roads are nearly empty, inviting for day tours to explore the island by scooter and short walks.

As said here in Italia and Croatia we are taking cooking and eating pretty serious.
A street BBQ with roasted suckling pig is very common in the mountainious areas of this island.
You ask the chef to cut off a part of your liking, pass by at kitchen to get some bread and sour pickled veggies, deal done..

Same goes for even smaller "konobes" which prepare  delicious chicken with sprigs of rosmarino, plate- chick- bread- beer, happy scooteriste.

Think I recall you posting some envy-inducing photos of Croatia last year Ruffus!  As Hawk says you're making me jealous all over again!  If only I could get there without having to flog a 350cc scooter down the length of Europe!

(I did once find a French train service which would ferry a motorcycle from Paris (Gare du Nord?) down to the south of France...)  Didn't use it in the end as the fare was more than fuel & tolls and I was much younger back then.

Neil, why not considering to take a flight to one of the islands and rent a scoot there. Opportunities and sights are plenty, tourists less.

That's always an option Ruffus, you're right although I'd much prefer to test my DTX around those areas.  Life's a compromise I guess.

Beautiful pics Rufus. I have been down the Dalmation Coast of Croatia and it is beautiful. We took a boat from Pescara, Italy to Split and the scenery was beautiful.
