LIKE200i not started in a little over a month
« on: September 15, 2025, 02:56:20 PM »
And only ridden one time since my mirror broke off on July 4th!
New mirror worked loose again, on an August ride - so more Blue Loctite and parked scoot for another month.
I ride a few sections of very poor pavement - no avoiding it, I've tried. No other better way to go.
So the mirror mounts, and everything else on the scooter get a real work-out. I've lowered the front tire PSI a couple of pounds to
help things.
At 24-33MPH - tire safety is not an issue on my rides.

In any event - the LIKE200i has had one start since July 4th - and this morning the scooter fired instantly - and settled into a perfect idle.
Kymco really got the EFI (and the brakes!) right on these LIKE 200i's !!

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Yes, My 2019 Like 150 also starts instantly, idles perfectly, and has fantastic brakes. The downside is the mirrors. My housekeeper bumped the right mirror with the laundry basket, breaking the fragile plastic piece in the mirror keeping it tight to the stalk. The replacement was $75 from Europe and I was lucky to find one available. $20 generic mirrors do not work; the mountings are completely different. Apparently, Kymco has a unique, or rare, way of securing the mirrors to the handle bars. They use a friction system whereby the nut you tighten squeezes the shaft and allows you to rotate the shaft (and mirror) fore and aft. The mirror itself does not adjust up and down easily and I am scared to put any muscle into moving it because that plastic part holding it to the stalk is...plastic.

Yes, I know what you're talking about with the system Kymco uses on some scooters. My LIKE200i was like your mirror mounts.
10 yrs ago I got lucky and found an ebay seller who talked me through the adapters needed to mount his long stem Mirrors by FAR in Italy. He knew a thing or 3 about mirrors!
It was a simple fitting and was less that $10 for the parts.

I cannot for the life of me remember his company. MOTOSPORT seems to ring a bell with me.
I told him what scooter I had, and what mirror of his I wanted - he steered me to the simple screw-in adapter I'd need.
All of this on ebay.

If I find the company, I'll PM you.
