2019 Xtown 300 Question (USA model)

I picked up a 2020 Kymco Like 150i last month and love it for commuting (500+ miles so far), but I need more power for freeway speeds of 70+ mph.

Found a 2019 Xtown 300 for $1200 with only 641 miles. Seems to run well, but has some cosmetic scratches on one side. Battery died after testing (not terribly surprised since it's been sitting since August & has been turned on/started a few times but not ridden), but the right front turn signal in the mirror isn't working - just fast-flashing the rear bulb while the left side works fine front & back.

Before I pull the trigger on this purchase, I was wondering if the 2019 Xtown 300 front turn signals are LED or incandescent. Trying to figure out if it's possibly (hopefully) just a dead bulb, blown fuse, or wiring issue. I called a local service shop who said I'd need to replace the whole mirror assembly, which I'd rather not do before riding it 30 miles home.

Hello, and welcome to the forum.
"fast flashing" of one turn signal usually indicates the other bulb on that side is broken. Surely this dead bulb can be replaced - would Kymco build such a thing? I might be wrong.

And yeah - a 150 LIKE has no business on a freeway! Even if it was faster - it is too light with too short a wheelbase to be safe out there.

I found a parts schematic for a Downtown 300 with blinkers/winkers in the mirrors and they look to be led and the led unit must be replaced. It said $173 USD on the Leeson's website. It appeared to be removable and replaceable within the mirror housing so you don't need to replace the entire mirror.

edit: thinking back on my 'international market' turn signal indicators on my S200...they were led and if they burned out the entire lens with the permanent led bulbs inside it would be replaced. Probably similar to the indicators in the Xtown mirrors.

Hmm. Could be worse...at least there's the current dead ones in the frame that I could use in the meantime. More than likely I'll eventually swap out the mirrors, add aftermarket turn indicators, and convert the dead lights to DRLs.

@Xabix, before you get into extended works:
There are companies who repair LED indicators/ headlights, etc. Depends which country you are in. Look it up, send them an email for a quote.

Another option is: if you are sure LED is faulty
-open the mirror
-extract the indicator
- measure size
-replace the faulty LED part with electronic and cables with stuff from aftermarket
- reglue the item with hotglue

I did this on vintage motorcycles where only the outer indicator "glass/ orange plastic" was available and originals not produced anymore.

In this case (vintage Guzzi) only outer orange enhancers were available, without the socket and cables for light bulbs.
-two pieces of 12V LED strip inclusive this little electronic parts and cables..
-made nice (even running) indicators

BTW: this cupola (upper transparent smoke part) was sanded and varnish treated too, for it is not longer new available. Not 100% clean work, but acceptable.

Try at AMAZON, there is plenty of choice from 12V prefab items (pls see pics) and inexpensive enough to experiment...

Sorry, just to clarify — I’m not getting the Xtown 300. Too many red flags. The seller’s story kept changing: first she said she was out of town, then claimed the title would arrive Monday (today) as she only transferred it into her name two weeks ago despite buying it several months ago.

She’s been showing it without a title, now insists on selling by Wednesday, and claimed other buyers would pay more. But she’s the one who delayed, not me. When I asked to wait until the title was in hand and the bike present, she pushed harder.

Nope. I’m out.

Xabix, smart move. It is amazing how many people (in the US) try to sell bikes without titles. Too many sad stories about people buying their first bike and realizing a title doesn't come with it.
