Cardinals watch, too - but aren't as critical of my technique.

frankly, don't know how some of these bigd_m squirrels fit in that feeder!

*my late grandad would have served him over noodles, with gravy.
I lived with him for a few months when I was homeless - came home from work one day and a giant snapping turtle was sticking out of a big pot on the stove. He'd "won" it in a raffle down at the VFW. I ate Cheerios for a while until the turtle & noodles were all gone./

I've eaten squirrel when I was a young teenager, probably 10 when I had my first gun. 20ga single shot Savage/Stevens.

taste... ok, gamey
texture.... tough as hell
rabbits & partridge are much better

squirrel again, nope, but I'd like to try possum

There's a saloon nearby that advertises Possum night, once a month, sign reads, "Possum  the other other white meat!"
Never been tempted....

around here, bird feeders are an invitation for bears. General bear season started last week, goes to Nov 30 in my zone, you can bait with a permit till Sept 28, after that, you can use dogs with a permit, I wish bear meat was venison, I've only had it a couple times and it ain't that great

I had a pile of bear scat in my driveway recently; and of course found my unprotected beehive

Well spotted!
Lost their lives on a pizza that evening!
Our tomato growing efforts are the neighborhood joke.
For years.
We have had 3 tomatoes this size from 3 large plants purchased from Lowe's, and babied all summer!
I don't want to hear another of my daughter's theories of what I'm doing wrong. At this point - I don't care!
Local grocer's sells nice tomatoes - every day!
