Differential leak

I have a '23 People S 150 with about 1500 miles. I was on vacation last week, and when I returned, I noticed a small oil spot on my garage floor under the rear differential. I appeared to be wet around the drain plug. Last year I bought a aftermarket drain plug with a magnet. The plug appeared to be tight, but I drained the differential and re-filled with new oil. When I re-installed the drain plug, I used plumbers' tape on the threads and torqued it to 7 ft lbs. If this doesn't work, should I go back to the factory drain plug?

No plumbers tape but, a gasket/ washer of fiber or alu material is required if we talk about the transmissions gear oil plug, RH side between clutch and rear wheel.

I bought a aftermarket kit of drainplugs that had magnets attached for the engine and diff. When I installed the new plug, it didn't have a gasket. It was fine for a year but starting seeping last week. I drained and changed the diff fluid, I didn't have the original gasket, so I used teflon tape on the threads and torqued the bolt to 7 ft lbs. When I change the oil and diff in the spring, I will buy a new gasket for it.

a few years ago I bought both copper and aluminum crush washer/gasket sets from Amazon. Both included a large number of washers, hopefully a lifetime supply. Relatively cheap and great to have on the shelf when needed.
