if a "key fob" is electronic - what's this called?
« on: August 17, 2025, 02:12:14 AM »

I told my bother this is a key fob. He said, no - fobs are those remotes cars use now.

Years ago I was calling these things 'fobs' before there were remotes!
They were usually leather.

This one came with my Bestem lighted top case - years ago.

puzzled. as usual

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

it's a key fob, not all fobs are electronic, even among the electronic fobs there are differences, the fob for my Frontier, will lock and unlock doors and sound the horn but a key is still needed for the ignition

and keyless fobs do nothing except be a proximity transponder

they are all fobs, just different type
