Bentino's pizza shop was burglarized a few weeks ago after a very successful street fair in Yellow Springs, (the village is my sunrise coffee destination)
We were in town today for shopping and (me) people watching - then with a planned lunch at the best pizza shop we know, Bentino's!
It was a typical "good luck finding parking!" sunny day in Y.S. Crazy how it happens winter and summer! The people come...!
Today there was added traffic through town - as we noticed a plethora of JEEPS passing through.. We guessed correctly, Young's Dairy, the state's largest privately owned family entertainment spot, a mile or 2 up the road, was having their annual Jeep Jamboree. Hundreds of Jeeps came. Young's hosts some of Ohio's largest car & truck gatherings!

The oldest tavern in Ohio, Yellow Springs'
Ye Olde Trail Tavern was busy as always - all year around.

I noticed, for the first time, that this 'dedicated bench' in front of Tom's (AKA, The Group W area) is bolted to the wall!
Sitting in this area I was flanked by a horrid guitar player to my left, and a guy hopelessly making noise on a bamboo flute to my right.
I'd busked in 'Frisco in my youth -
but by dam I could at least play something! These are street musicians who hope you'll drop a bill in their can - but not stop long enough to realize they are not 'playing' anything! I've known the like. An embarrassment to street musicians! Both.
'Braided' flute guy at the far end (but not far enough) of the bench...

Bentino's, one of the stores burglarized, has moved to a larger store - w A/C !! Very nice as it was 90+ today.

Good service - great food!
My favorite food in Ohio comes from these folks.

I did see two scooters - a yellow "shipped to your driveway", and an old Burgman.
My daughter, since she was 12, has always enjoyed accompanying me to Y.S. And these past few years - my very conservative wife has relaxed about its reputation for commies and hippies - and has come to enjoy the friendly vibe in the village. She's even made friends with some of my strange but harmless street peeps.

town has a different look at 6 in the morning:-) today the cars were parked solid, both sides, down to that green light
