new record for # of visitors to site

I like to look at the stats at the bottom of the homepage from time to time..seeing who is online and how many....looks like we set a new record for site visitors 1 week ago...I believe the previous record was sometime in 2021? (covid era?)

I never fully understood some of those figures.
Apparently, there are some 3000+ guests presently viewing this forum.....and one old guy out front selling tomatoes.
I know the internet world is huge - but 3000 looking at our forum?! Seems unlikely, to me.
Are these guests mostly 'bots', or ??

looking for bots in the shrubbery....
