an old friend of mine who live 90 miles away invited me over to ride some of his bikes and 4 wheeler yesterday. It was on the way to the airport where my wife and daughter were flying into so I said heck yes!
Bike was a '94 (?) Kawasaki Concourse 1000. He's owned it for almost 25 years. I'd seen it years ago before I started riding, again, and didn't even want to sit on it back then. Now I couldn't wait to ride it! We took a nice 26 mile ride around his rural neighborhood and a nice mix of twisty 2 lane roads from 35 - 55 mph. I wasn't sure what to expect, power wise, but it was docile down low in the revs and just pulled stronger the higher the revs. Comfy seat, great wind protection and great brakes. I could see myself adding a nice, older sport touring bike someday...
I also rode his Honda PCX125 (sweet little scoot, comfy and light. The beast was his 700cc Yamaha 4 wheeler. He put it in high mode and I ran it up the street. If felt like an old muscle car...I wasn't prepared for the rocket like acceleration on a 4 wheeler! Did a little trail riding on it, too.
Not enough time to ride all his toys but I'll sure be back there, again.
pic is not his Concourse but a representative pic (still love the OLD school hard cases that appear to be Samsonite luggage from the 80's)
