AK 550 Seat Closed For Good?

After watching a good video on youtube about eliminating the rear fender/license plate holder at no cost I jumped right on that. However I screwed up and cut the wire going back there and taped it up.
Now my seat will not open! It has to be because of that wire. The only other thing I did was take the storage bucket container out from under the seat.
On another post or thread here someone mentioned there is a Mechanical way to open the seat. By turning the Electronic knob from Off all the way left to the last symbol.
This would not work for me. I cannot get that knob to turn that far left. And I know you have to push down and then turn but it will not turn that far. The Video mentioned is from THE SCOOTER KING who is in Miami. It is the latest video he has posted. The first part of the video is for changing out the stock air filter and installing an aftermarket filter. After that he shows how he eliminated the rear fender and re-installed the license plate for a much cleaner look which I like a Lot. Hoping he will get back to me about my little problem here.

When you attempt to turn the knob all the way to the left do you also turn the handlebars all the way to the left FIRST?

That is the steering lock position you get to first and then the manual cable seat release AFTER that. You won't be able to turn the knob far enough for the mechanical seat release unless you are able to lock the steering first.

If that works for you and you get the seat open then it is time to immediately install the emergency seat latch release that I posted about here:

Thinking on what you said... Just WHERE did you cut the wire?
I certainly hope not anywhere forward of the REAR light cluster plug! The seat release electrical wire really doesn't go that far back. It connects to a solenoid right at the right side seat latch.
The right and left seat latches are linked with a steel cross wire so they activate together. That is why any emergency seat latch release and the manual cable release and the electrical release are all at the right side latch.

I'm thinking it was just a wire (black and green) for the license plate light. And that should have no bearing on the Seat switch, lock, unlock. No I don't believe I turned the handlebars all the way to the left. I remembering thinking about and may have done that but not sure if I did. I'll go out and give it another try. I don't remember seeing anything in the manual about turning the handlebars first before turning the knob all the way left.
