First run out for 2025 on the Triumph
« on: June 19, 2025, 02:50:49 PM »
A pal in the Village where I live rides a Honda NC750 and asked me if I wanted to join him on a run out over the border and into Wales - a place called Llangollen.  It's only a 110 mile round trip and sounded like a good suggestion.

Turned out to be the hottest day of the year so far with temperatures around 30C - phew!

Stopped at the Horseshoe Pass for this photo

Then back into the Town for a lunch stop at the Corn Mill pub (https://www.brunningandprice.co.uk/cornmill/):

All told a four hour outing which reminded me how much I enjoy the Triumph.  Perhaps I'll hold onto it for at least another year!

Does riding that bike make you feel years younger?
(at least until body aches set in)

Partial to white bikes, to me it’s a classy look.

Living in a village sure sounds appealing.
2014 BV 350  "IndiGO" (fast, strong and tireless)
2006 Honda Rebel 250  "Snow Leopard" (stealthy, agile and durable)
2018 Lance Cali Classic 200i  "Black Panther" (smooth, nimble, quiet and quick)
2016 Wolf V-50 (sold)

Wanted a Kymco, ended up w a Lance, but that forum is inactive, so I am here

Well MB, yes & no.  Yes it does as long as my arthritic hips don't twinge, but if I'm honest I can do longer days with less discomfort on the scooter these days.  About 75 miles is my limit before I need to climb off for a leg stretch on the Triumph, though I do enjoy chucking it around the bends far more than I do on the scoot, it's what it was built for!  4-6K RPM around town or in traffic and it's a pussycat, but then 6-10K on the open road reminds me what an animal it can be and that growling wail from the air intake as it comes on song is addictive!  Then I feel every inch the young 'ooligan again...

It's been over 20 years since may last track day, but if I could still get into my leathers I'd be tempted to try it out around one of our nearest tracks.  No harm in daydreaming.

Neil
