I do see some resemblance between the 2 scoots…the Helix is a futuristic interpretation of the Heinkel?

A lot of the German and Czech scooters in the 50s had the "two wheeled car" like designs. Here is a Maico from that era...

Spot on Stig. Same company I believe.

Reminds me of the exRAF pilot addressing a Women’s Institute meeting about his wartime exploits. Mid dog-fight story he’s saying “so there were Fokkers to the left of me and Fokkers to the right…”

The Chair jumps up and interjects “Ladies, ladies I should just say that the Fokker is a manufacturer of German fighter planes!”

“Quite so Madam” replies the Squadron Leader, “but these Fokkers were Messerschmitts!”

Heinkel, Weren't they the long range heavy bombers of the Luftwaffe . . .

The Luftwaffe didn't have any heavy bombers.  Hitler didn't believe in them!  They relied on feeble light twin-engine bombers like the Heinkel 111, augmented by V1 flying bombs called "buzz-bombs". The buzz-bombs were deadly.  It was a buzz-bomb that killed my grandparents in 1940.  Europeans haven't changed a bit.  They're still trying to bash each other into submission!  An interesting footnote to those times: At the end of the war, after the victors ransacked all the aircraft & engine factories,  there was nothing for the Germans to do except start again, most by manufacturing scooters and bubble cars: Messerschmit,  Heinkel, BMW Isetta, etc.

I wonder?

No. Many postwar scooters looked similar to the Henkel. Take a look at the Fuji Rabbit. That was the first vehicle Malcolm Bricklin imported into the US. Fuji later became Subaru.
Been riding for a very long time.
