Precisely the point made in all the independent reviews of this device.  A determined pro with an angle grinder will gain access (via cutting through the anchor plate which is the weak point) in about 10 seconds!  Best "Sold Secure" motorcycle locks will withstand attacks for 10 minutes or more.  Although if the thief comes equipped with a panel van and you haven't locked you pride & joy to something immovable...

@Neil, since I had to do an emergency lock cut recently on a friends motorcycle, I fully agree with cutting a conventional chainlock with a batterydriven small anglegrinder takes not more than 10 (ten) seconds.

Would prefer and recommand a sturdy brake disc lock., not putting on the front disc but on the rear brake disc, nearly not approachable with a grinder.

Yeah, Piaggio has been selling those for their scooters for a long time. I always assumed it came off and was stored under the seat. Kinda goofy looking hanging there by your feet.

I used to carry a Bulli U-Lock with motion alarm under my seat. Then I saw that I was never going to go into the Art Institute or an AAA meeting or Fish-on-a-Stick and leave my scooter in the parking lot.

Now it is somewhere in my tool chest.....(just remembered: I used to set it and hang it on the inside of my garage door. The motion alarm screech could be heard throughout my estate, including the east wing - where I slept. Then I would grab my Taylor Made 2 iron and thrash the culprit.....until my wife pulled me off him. 2 irons are dangerous on golf courses, too)

I really feel for people who live in large metros and have to park scoots or bikes outside. There must be some additional stress in knowing your 2 wheeler could disappear at any time. I am fortunate to live in a smaller town with indoor parking for my scoots. As others have said, my scoot or bikes are almost never left outside, alone. I typically hop on in my garage, go for a ride and return to park in my garage.

That lock on the Piaggio looks easy to use but I'd hate to hop on the scoot, forgetting it is there and start to take off...

Benn there, done that. But only in front of an audience of about 300 or so bikers!  £200 ish for a new brake callipers on my 900 Sprint. Oh the embarrassment.

In St Pete Beach I fell flat on my face in front of a crowded tiki bar.
Went right on down to china.

My daughter swore never to reveal that she'd seen that I was focused on the handsome bikini bottom walking in front of me.
I root or some dam thing got me!

I did do a very athletic shoulder roll to prevent injury. So, there was that.
