Hello Guys.
Thanks...the only thing I did not try was the thermostat. I will do this today and let you know my findings.

Took the entire scoot apart. Found a few cracks in the cooling hoses. Decided to change them all! Scoot runs fine now. Thanks for everyone's input.

I have that check engine light that wouldn't go off. Could the system need resetting?

Probably.  Others have reported on here that disconnecting the battery for a few minutes sometimes resets these or there may be a specific reset procedure detailed in your scooter's handbook?
