Lock your keys in the top case or under the seat!





I leave the keys in the Liberty's top case. The seat is never fully closed - so that's no worry.....but that top case! You don't need the key to lock it!

The LIKE's top case requires the key to close~! ...so I'm safe there. I'm rarely messing under the seat - but it would snap closed on my keys if I wasn't careful.
 I do have a seat/ignition key hidden on the LIKE after I scared myself one winter's day, miles form home!

One advantage of keyless ignition I guess Stig, it's now always in my jeans' pocket!  (Must check to see if my Shad box will snap locked - 99% of the time mine is unlocked!)

luckily my fob battery died when I was home, but unknown till after I replaced the bike battery for no reason

Another thing you don't need is when you're riding in sunshine (OK rare occurrence here in the UK) then ride into shade and spot the low fuel lamp flashing!  Wonders to self, "how long has that been on?"  Checks trip to see 182 miles - I normally fill up around 165-170    Then paranoid low speed ride home to conserve fuel and pick up the fuel can before further, vicar-like, ride to the petrol station to fill up.  Life's little dramas eh?

OK, update on my last post just to let you know how things turned out.  I didn't need to use the fuel can, yay!  Stopped for the Kodak moment about half a mile from the petrol station and the top picture records the 190.9 trip so by the time I rolled onto the forecourt it achieved over 191 miles without running out.  Dare I go for 200?...



This second photo shows the curious flicker rate that the dash has and which shows so often on YouTube road tests.  It's invisible to the naked eye, but cameras almost always show it.

OK folks, here's the update.  I rolled the old girl out of the garage at home with 191 miles showing on the last tankfull - see pic below.



At the point where I'd just breached the 200 mark I was close to a fuel station and I'll admit it, I bottled it (to use a Brit colloquialism) and pulled in to fill up - see pic 2



Now this is where it gets interesting.  On my UK-spec bike the fuel tank size is given as 12.5l yet all I could squeeze in after brimming it was 10.7l, so, theoretically another 1.8l had been left in the tank at 200 miles or, by my reckoning at least another 20 miles.

I don't think I'll run it to 220 any time soon, but it's good to know a 200 mile tank range seems a perfectly feasible working assumption!

  That's the one thing I dislike about my new ('23) People S 150. The fuel tank is only 1.6 gallons. Supposed to get 80+ MPG, but it's still not broken in yet. I'm always topping it off way before the gage is that low.

No idea what my MPG's are.
I quit checking years ago.
I guess if my mail box was in Wyoming - that'd be a problem here in Ohio.
Too often I found myself out riding before quality (Top-Tier) gas stations were open.
I top up before or after every ride from gas can at home - kept full of SHELL Nitro 93.
