NSR: do you watch, or avoid your big games?
« on: February 11, 2024, 08:39:11 PM »
The Super Bowl is on tonight. I love big games in football - championship games, bowl games, etc.
However - at my age - I've sat through far too many games only to watch my team lose.
Therefore - I record the big game, Check the final score in the morning - or sometimes during the wee hours.
If my team won, I'll make coffee, sit and enjoy the game!

But, if there's no drama I doze off - for instance I will not watch some hunky pilot in my wife's Plane Crash movies - because the da_n thing never crashes. And, for instance - if someone doesn't take out Hamilton on the first corner - I turn off F-1 races*.

I love youtube because I can watch years of my team winning.....or an enemy team losing!

I watch an occasional hockey game, that's about it. but even hockey, I prefer to go to one of the local arenas and catch a youth hockey game, men's league, or even women's league, My son was a goalie in youth hockey, One year between the league games (his team was in 2 leagues) tournaments and non league games, My son was between the pipes 124 games one year, I went to every one of them. My daughter was in a woman's league a few years, I caught several of her home games. Now, some of my friends have children and grandchildren playing. If it's not 5am in Biddeford, ME, I might consider going

Stoopid Bowl Sunday, I should really revive my annual Kanc Ride

same spot, the sign is buried somewhere in that snowbank

I refuse to watch the NFL so no super bowl for me.  I don't have any interest in the NBA, NHL or MLB either.
