KYMCO 300I 2008 Problem with instrumental panel
« on: October 18, 2022, 08:47:08 PM »
Hi, I have a Kymco xciting 300i, no longer works the instrumentation, the temperature sensor after a few minutes marks full scale, battery light on, gasoline sensor marks full scale etc.  I also changed the whole electrical system, but the problem remains, what can be?

Thank you

Whoa! What does "changed whole electrical system" really mean?

There may be a language problem here, but my question "what does that mean" is still unanswered. Does it mean you replaced EVERY electrical/electronic component AND the wiring harness? Every switch and relay?

Sorry for my English, but I’m Italian.
I changed all the wires in the system, but the problem still persists. I didn’t change any other instruments, only the cables

Okay, I understand. You changed the entire wiring harness, correct? Factory part? No differences in colors of wires?

I think it’s a common problem, I saw on sale on the internet a Kymco 500 (2008), with my own problems

I think the problem that is common is a voltage regulator on the instrument panel breaks and gives bad readings. It can be replaced but the instrument panel has to be sawed apart and the printed circuit board removed to get at the regulator. An electronics technician like a cell phone repairman could do this.

if this is the problem, I think the best solution is to find a new instrumental panel (second hand)
thank you for your help

best regards   Giuseppe

That sounds good. You already got burned by replacing the wiring. This can't hurt as much as that! Keep us advised how this goes...
