How to remove the timing mark cover
« on: August 16, 2022, 10:58:26 PM »
What's the best tool to remove the timing mark cover?  I've tried a large screwdriver, but it's just ruining the cap.

Got an old 1” chisel you could modify?

I'm not sure what you call these sockets. I've had them forever. They are 1/2 drive and made by Giller. I suggest you check the tool department of your local stores to see what you can find.

Any bigger  € or $ or £ coin with a diameter of 25 mm and a grip plier will do.
Happy and safe scootering, Ruffus

Thanks all for your advice. I was able to successfully loosen that cap without damaging it too much. I placed the blade of a large screwdriver into the slot of that cap at an angle and gently tapped on the screwdriver handle with a hammer, which turned the cap enough to remove it by hand.
