Dear scooteristi,
how about this Harley Davidson scooter, was called TOPPER and built from 1960 - 1965. Just to tell our Harley friends next time, we know where your rumbler is coming from😊.
Wouldn't that be something to tinker with?

Ruffus I had a Italian Harley Legarro , horrible bike. Had a three speed transmission you shifted on the left handle bar. The only way to hit third gear was going down a hill with the wind at your back.
I wonder who built the scooter for Harley?

The motor was two stroke German DKW design since Harley was awarded tooling rights after WWII.

OK, HD made a scooter, sort of - I'm not sure I'd even let my wife make a yard ornament out of that.....
My late father had a red Cushman. I can remember standing behind the handlebars one evening while he ride us through flooded streets on an Air Force base in Puerto Rico after a tropical storm in the 50's.
He used to toss it on planes when he was TDY in the Air Force. Take it with him. Mom tells a funny story of him setting fire to a package of his uniforms coming home from the base laundry. Brown paper and string bundle got too close to something behind him on the seat.. Finally some one waved him down.

Stig there is/was a local Cushman club in McPherson . Many people collect them, while not my cup of tea they have a loyalty to the brand. I believe they were made in Lincoln Nebraska. A lot of the three wheel versions were used in the various aircraft plants around Wichita KS .
I do like the Yamaha C-3 scooter which has a very utilitarian look. If it had a larger motor I would probably purchase one.
I'm sure the HD topper has a loyal following as well, not as utilitarian as the Cushman.
