Grand Dink 150, restoration, cable rot
« on: July 14, 2021, 09:43:01 AM »
Dear Grand Vista/Dink owners,
during my restoration project some issues coming up.
The airfilter housing is mounted on top of the gear.
Caused by up and down movements during riding, those upper end of your air intake pipe might frail off the cables insulation, causing electrical disaster. (pls see pics).
Solution is, wiring dismantling and isolate each string.

Second demage I dedected was, caused most probably by vibration, a weakening of metal anchor parts for our Dinks body and topcase holder.
(pls see pics). Solution is only to cut and repair/weld.
If you have the chance, check this spots in time to avoid further demage or accident.
Happy and safe scootering, Ruffus
