2014 uxv 500 starting making noise when accelerating
« on: March 06, 2021, 06:33:48 PM »
Hi, new to the forum, searched and didn't find any results so here goes.
I have a 2014 uxv 500 with a little over 11000 miles. I was plowing snow and the transmission/drivetrain started making a rattling noise under acceleration and slipping.  By the time I got it into shop, I could smell a burning rubber type smell.  Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Rick

yep, agree with Crossbolt! Open up your cvt cover and see what's going on in there.

Thanks guys, I will take a look and see what I see.  If it happens to be cluth related, is that hard to replace?

CVT units are relatively simple things. If you have a problem with any of the components (clutch, belt and variator) they are easy to replace. If your CVT belt is original, 11,000 miles is a lot of life to get out of one. Belts are cheap and easy to replace. Most here would recommend getting an OEM Kymco belt vs a cheaper aftermarket one.
