Heated Highway21 glove report....
« on: October 28, 2020, 06:23:20 PM »
After a back&forth once with Revzilla - have been wearing these a few times. Very stiff at first - but like a leather shoe they quickly softened up. Getting plenty of heat on lowest setting from the 7V battery squirreled away in the cuff. Big test will be riding, screenless, in the 20's later this winter.

Took this snap before heading home this morning. (sprayed with silicone leather water/proofing)

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

the gloves look like something out of a sci-fi movie with the glowing red lights! Those look much warmer than the perforated leather shorty gloves I wore on my ride yesterday!

How is battery life? Do they last for your entire ride?

Mine are very similar - but it does say that you shouldn't wear them in the rain. Which is a problem in Scotland. I'm not sure rain repellent spray would do the trick.

Plastic carrier bags?

Or maybe use them when driving the car?

That said, I can't be too critical, it's been raining all week here in Sassenach land!

Don't laugh. The batteries are charged for that very purpose.

Good stuff. It's been mostly dry here  ;D

Yeah, my eldest daughter lives (stays) near Stirling so we get regular weather reports!

I've been using 7V heated glove liners on my hands for several years - with a leather gauntlet over glove. Never had an issue with the gloves making heat for the 3-4 hours which I'm out. I expect these will work as well.
I most always run them on lowest setting - the mid setting a very few mornings when temps in the teens. Again - if I'd use a screen with  wind deflection over the hands, or muffs, it would be better. But I don't like either.
Heated gloves, with no connecting wires, work for me because I'm always removing them for photos.
