OK for the experts out here. This last year my DT doesn't roll as easy as it used to. Meaning that when you try to just let it move you can feel and hear something kinda dragging. I called the dealer thinking it might be the wheel bearing but he said they are closed and that shouldn't be the issue. The best is new with only a couple hundred miles on it. Could it be something else in the CVT?

Any thoughts would be great on where I should start my search for a solution.

many times a caliper will hang up..it's usually pretty easy to hear as a metallic grinding kind of noise. there's always a little contact between pad and rotor but you may have some crusty slide pins that aren't allowing the pad to slide? (assuming your calipers have slide pins, haven't looked at a parts diagram).

If this is the case calipers are very easy to disassemble, clean and lube up the slide pins.

I guess I'd put it up on the center stand and take turns rotating the front wheel and the back wheel. You should feel if one is really dragging and then go from there.

Rear caliper on DT300i bikes tend to drag but this sounds extreme. I second lahawk.

One time for me,...was very low air in rear tire!

when I bought my new scoot a 2016 Piaggio 350  the dealer prepped it ,  first trip the wheel was making noise,  there was no grease in thhe bearings, it made a howling sound, thhen I started taking all the scoot apart on rainy days, and grease every thing, I now have a lift table

Maybe too obvious, but have you put it on center stand and hand turned each wheel to see where the possible bind is? Two bolts hold the calipers on, making them easy to remove.

Unfortunately winter has hit here hard tonight. But I was able to spin the rear wheel so far and I can feel the drag there. Still need to spin the front but I think we have found the issue.

Now that you know it's at the rear wheel, I'd remove the caliper to see if that's the problem. If it still drags I'd next look at the variator and drive belt, neither of which should turn when you turn the wheel. Then lastly at the bearings. Almost certainly it's the caliper, though.

It rarely occurs but an issue that happened once with similar results is if the 39mm thin clutch nut loosens inside the variator, the belt pulley unit will drag against the clutch bell. As mentioned in a previous post, the wheel should turn with no rotational input to rear pulley and belt. The clutch bell should spin with the wheel.
