Setting the bars back
« on: August 20, 2020, 12:41:33 AM »
Having done enough miles to know my 500 is ok for longer hauls, I'm tweaking it for that. I've noticed my old back would like it it if the bars were back and inch or two. Anybody with any history this way? Are there other bars known to fit and accomplish this?

I’ve fitted some bar backs to mine for the very same reason. It was a simple enough exercise and with a little judicious adjustment of the position of the brake lines, no issues with length.

The headstock cowling did need a very minor tickle with the dremel but again a 5 second job.

The only residual matter is that now you can see a bit of the headstock underneath the cowling but I can live with that.

These fit the stock bars and are the ones I got.

Thank you, now I know it's possible and worth investing some effort into.
