3 single vehicle motorcylce crashes in my area
« on: July 03, 2020, 04:57:45 PM »
3 guys on big bikes. No helmets.
Looks like two of them left the road in a curve....one made an illegal pass.
One guy went so far into the woods, he wasn't immediately found.

I see that a lot in the news. Single vehicle motorcycle wreck.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Carrying too much speed into the curve cannot make a mid-course correction BOOM you're into the trees

we have a marina / campground with bar/restaurant a few miles away that is popular with the Harley riders in the summer. I hear bikes heading up there around dinner time and then lots of them returning a few hours later. I have to think they've been drinking. I can't imagine riding a bike/scooter after drinking. Add to that no riding gear...and it's a wonder more bikes don't go down. Booze and bikes = bad combination.

“Eight hours from bottle to throttle”? Even then, depends how much you’ve taken. Seem to recall each unit of alcohol takes an hour to disperse in the body and pass through?

Safest not to.

It was 10 hours for the medevac and gun crews in Vietnam.
But I know that was tossed many times with a stat call for help.
22 yr old Warrant Officers can drag their behinds onto a huey and perform, even if they can barely walk. Relying on the 18 yr old crew chief to do preflight checks and begin the startup procedure.
(some of them can do a hover out of the revetment)
Amazing kids, all of them.
