Riding home today.
Bright cloudless sky - into sudden & dark, dark alley of tree shadows....
...and sure enough something was in that darkness!
A young couple on a tandem bicycle in the middle of my lane, riding slowly.
Glad I always roll off throttle when approaching this area....2 yrs ago a deer was in there.
Rear female rider wearing a black backpack. ....but nothing short of a set of red LEDs would have made them visible in time for a car to slow before hitting them.
I pulled alongside at the stop sign, and suggested LEDs, even for day rides. When I mentioned that they were nearly invisible in that transition area the girl's eyes got real big.
A set of $10 bike red LEDs could make things safer on 50mph country roads.
I put one on my Like200i yrs ago for fog and rain days. Can be set to strobe, fast or slow.
Last saw them slowly peddling towards miles of more of the same.
I could very easily have hit them...
