Can you recommend a jump pack?
« on: December 12, 2019, 10:43:44 PM »
Thinking of picking up one for take-along when on long outings in the car or my scooter this winter.
Yeah, jumper cables are nice - but requires a 2nd willing car.
There are so many to choose from.....and - are there any hazards with these things?
I'm talking about the small, one to two pound packs.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

I'm with MJR there.
I've had one for a few years, & have used it for jumping things, & charging my phone mostly.
They've gotten a bit fancier since I bought mine. Some of the newer ones can run a small pump as well, & even run a laptop if necessary with the small one (the sport)  able to charge off USB as i recall.

I’ve used one of these the last few years.
https://www.harborfreight.com/lithium-ion-jump-starter-and-power-pack-62749.html?_br_psugg_q=jump+starter

On sale with coupon around 55.00. Ive jumped over 10 cars on a single charge. I little larger than some but cheap.

Dangers? Well I question the source of any small LiOn batts. I don’t leave them unattended while charging and avoid impacts. That goes for any of them.
