We've left a wounded man behind.....
« on: August 27, 2019, 09:26:36 PM »
Or so it seems:
Still no fix for this LIKE200i~!
http://www.kymcoforum.com/index.php?topic=28547.0

It has a new battery and a new, working plug. I can think of nothing else to try - next would be throwing new parts at the garage wall to see what sticks.
And that is not a good way to fix something, usually - though goodness knows many of us have tried.

The fix might be something simple - but hopefully we've tried all of those. It would be easier if we were standing beside it, but ~~~
Frustrating because these LIKE's are thought of as bullet proof by many, many owners.

Anyone have a thought of what we might have missed ?(please read through all the posts first, so we're not chasing our tail!)

Do we say it is time for a visit to the dealer with the scooter?

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

This scooter has low mileage but hasn't been used for a couple of years.

I have no experience with fuel injected scooters, but knowing what I know about fuel injectors on other applications I would get the fuel injector tested at an injector specialists. They will need the correct specs on this model to do a proper test on the injector.
I could be wrong but I think if you used a mixture of ethanol fuel in this scooter in the past, and the scooter hasn't been used for a number of years - even the injector probably got clogged up by time.

In short - If the fuel ejector is not perfectly clean, or the fuel pump pressure is not correct, the engine will never run properly.

My2cents.

Stig passed some very interesting comments elsewhere. I think it might be worthwhile having a look at this :
